What a fab little coffee shop!! The location is lovely, in the old toll-house on the bridge, and the outdoor area overlooks the river. We just had a coffee, but the cakes looked absolutely amazing!! Really nice lunch menu too. The decor is really quirky inside, and loved all the little hidden seating areas! We’ll be back …
Noticed this lovely place when we was on a boat trip, glad we stopped in, Sophie thank you, beautiful pastries, nice coffee. Lovely atmosphere. Beautiful terrace to sit and watch York go by. If your not sure where to have somethingto drink n eat, Sophie's the place. See you agin. x
Just popped in here by chance on a recent weekend in York. Great little quirky cafe / bistro by the river. Beautifully decorated. We had coffee and teacakes which were reasonably priced. Staff were polite and friendly and the service was efficient. Such a shame the weather was awful as it would have been lovely to sit outside by the river.
Absolutely beautiful setting. I was there during the evening before the sun set and they had the lamp warmers which was fantastic in that cooler evening. The umbrellas kept everything dry as it rained a little, and being by the river, it was unique, especially being served from a tiny tower! Excellent service, top notch kindness from the server. Yummy hot chocolate. Definitely a romantic place for a couple, sitting at the tables with rug like seating. My pictures are red because of the heating lamps! ☺️
I have worked in York for 2 years now and I have a cat called Sophie so it seemed fitting to try it for my lunch. I am so glad I did, I had a chai latte, juicy apple juice and cream of veg soup. It did not dissapoint. It was really filling and look at the size of bread you get. Its table service and the staff are all really friendly. On a perfect sunny day you can sit outside too. It just a cute little cafe on the bridge in York that takes you a way from the hustle and bustle. Great food, great vibes, great service. Happy I went and I will be there again.
