Haxby Bakehouse

This is hands down the best bakery in the region, I’ve tried them all. Their sourdough breads are exceptionally good,full of flavour, perfectly fermented, with a beautiful crust and a soft, airy interior. And then there are the croissants, simply incredible. As a truly good croissant should be, is light and flaky, with delicate, well-defined layers that shatter gently when you bite into them. These croissants tick every box. Highly recommended it.

Gorgeous surroundings that make you feel at home as soon as you step inside. There's such an array of produce available to buy, some made on the premises, and a lot of it being local to the area around Haxby/York. It's also dog friendly, always a bonus for those of us who are dog lovers. Have to the croissant I had was the best I've had for a long time, and it was good to get a nice hot cappuccino. I thoroughly enjoyed my short stay, and will definitely be back, especially as I'm moving to the area

Oh it's been way too long since I last visited but then I'm not living in the area! There's been a bit of a change as they've gained a lovely seating area and sell some fabulous coffee... You can still buy all the great bread pastry too! Living down south I'm discovering how many bakers have been inspired by this place 😁👍

Artisan bakery in Haxby, next to Costa Coffee but why would you go there!! We stopped for coffee and cake, the cakes were excellent, clearly bread us a speciality based on the number of customers picking up orders but, the coffee was average. Next time we visit we will try a sandwich/quiche/sausage roll. Not the cheapest but quality rarely is. Recommended.

Prompt and efficient staff. Impeccable place. Amazing products. Bread is the best you can get in Haxby, and somewhere top 3 in York. A generous cheese toast, it was wonderful. Chocolate au pain brought me flashbacks from France, it was perfect. Cinnamon rolls-too much sugar sprinkled but other than that delicious.
