When we heard about a fried chicken joint in York just for wings, we knew we had to check it out. Yo Yo Wings have just landed at Polymath York , and their menu is seriously impressive—packed with bold, unique wing flavours and some next-level loaded fries. We tried five different wing flavours and were seriously impressed. The sauces were banging, the chicken was juicy and full of flavour, and the portion size? Massive. The only slight downside was the batter was a bit too thick in places, which meant the coating wasn’t properly cooked and sometimes fell off the chicken. We also went in on the steak-loaded fries—super tasty, with perfectly cooked steak on top. That said, we’d probably skip the broccoli next time. With a few tweaks, this spot has major potential—and we’ll be back, for Wing Wednesdays with a pint, that’s for sure!
Lunch special hit the spot. The Penang sauce was my favorite. Great food, great service, great atmosphere. The chef even gave my kids a quick kitchen tour! Loved it.
I didn’t really know what to expect but I was actually really impressed!! The chicken wings were tasty and juicy, plus had a lot of meat on in comparison to most wings you get nowadays. Lots of flavours to choose from too! Plus the tater tots and fries are the perfect addition. I’m happy to see a place introducing a menu that is not over complicated and just great and what they do. My boyfriend loves chicken wings and he said these were the best he’s ever tried. Lovely place to chill with a drink and snack (or feast in our case). Definitely worth giving a go especially with their wing Wednesday which is only 75p a wing.
The most tender wings with an amazing selection of flavours at the highest standard! If you are looking for wings in York this is a must visit!
Wings were amazing had the shogun spice was like a version of buffalo. Also I dunno what you put on those fries but they were amazing. Place is really cool inside and very reasonably priced. Will definitely be back next time I'm in York.
