<strong>Infrastructure &amp; Security Engineer</strong><br /><br />York – hybrid<br /><br />Benefits: Health Scheme &#43; Private Medical &#43; Staff Events<br /><br />We’re looking for a hands-on Infrastructure &amp; Security Engineer to join our York-based IT team at an exciting time of growth and transformation.<br /><br />You’ll be joining a small, collaborative team supporting both UK &amp; US operations. There’s no rigid 1st/2nd/3rd line structure here, everyone gets involved, everyone handles tickets, and everyone contributes to projects.<br /><br />If you enjoy variety, ownership, and doing things properly rather than cutting corners, this could be a great fit.<br /><br />Why This Role Is Different<br /><br /><ul> <li>Major Azure migration projects underway</li><li>Supporting international acquisitions</li><li>Hybrid environment moving towards fully cloud</li><li>Direct access to leadership — no hierarchy barriers</li><li>“No such thing as a stupid question” culture</li><li>Modern York office</li></ul> This is not a siloed support role, you’ll split your time between infrastructure, security, cloud, networking, and support, with plenty of opportunity to influence how things are built going forward.<br /><br />What You’ll Be Doing<br /><br /><ul> <li>Supporting and developing Azure infrastructure (Entra ID, VMs, M365, Conditional Access)</li><li>Working across both cloud and on-prem environments (currently hybrid)</li><li>Managing networking infrastructure including switches and firewalls</li><li>Handling support tickets alongside the team</li><li>Acting as an escalation point for complex issues</li><li>Supporting starter/leaver processes and core IT operations</li><li>Running basic SQL queries when required</li><li>Contributing to infrastructure modernisation and global growth projects</li><li>Providing occasional out-of-hours support when needed</li></ul> What We’re Looking For<br /><br /><ul> <li>We’re looking for a strong all-rounder with a proactive mindset.</li></ul> You’ll likely have:<br /><br /><ul> <li>Solid Azure experience (Entra ID, Conditional Access, VMs, M365)</li><li>Experience working in hybrid cloud environments</li><li>Strong Windows Server knowledge</li><li>Good networking fundamentals (switches, firewalls, connectivity)</li><li>Experience managing and resolving technical tickets</li><li>Basic SQL query experience</li><li>Excellent communication skills</li><li>A strong work ethic and collaborative approach</li></ul> Attitude is key.
