Bishopthorpe Road Car Park

Love this car park! Always park here because it’s only a 5 minute walk into the centre and it’s next door to our favourite bakery (Thomas the baker)! Not very busy which is why I like parking here, it’s out the way and slightly hidden.

Used to be one of the cheapest parking spots in York however YCC has just put car parking costs up from 80p to £4.85 per hour (Apr 25) to promote their ‘healthy’ city strategy. I feel for the local businesses that will be impacted.

Convenient location but it appears the management has become greedy and raised the prices by 5 times. Local businesses are asking for your support to help campaign to lower the price. Please sign the petition and vote with your wallet. This can be resolved in days if everyone is united and stays away until the management learns a lesson.

A car park near to local shops. Plenty of Blue Badge/Disabled Bay spaces too. Charges applied for able-bodied users. Busy at peak times but frequent turnover of vehicles.
