Stopped by Thomas the Baker while in York, while my wife was enjoying afternoon tea. The place had a welcoming, super friendly vibe, and the display case was filled with fresh pastries, pies, and local specialties. I tried the Steak Bake — pure comfort food. The filling was a warm, savory mix of diced beef in a rich, flavorful gravy, wrapped in a golden, flaky pastry crust. Service was friendly, and prices were reasonable. Overall, if you’re in the area, it’s definitely worth a stop. Saluti!

On our visit to York, we decided to buy some bread and saw Thomas the Baker on our walk. We looked in and liked the appearance of the products and the fact they're was a small queue, even mid-afternoon, so bought some products. All were excellent. The bread in particular, a multi-seeded loaf, was full of flavour, but the cheese straws and cherry scone stew both top quality too.

We wanted to taste the famous York Curd Tarts and hence made our way to this Bakery. Loved all the products on the shelf. They have a huge variety of sandwiches, pies, cakes, cookies, breads and a lot more. We also tried the cheese straws which were good. The curd tart was well baked, the curd cheese was balanced well with raisins adding proper sweetness. Will definitely visit again to try more products.
