Oxfam Bookshop

Called today to see if Harrogate Oxfam bookshop was interested in a donation of over 100 quality books. It's disappointing when dropping off the books which required several trips to the car and back which was parked up the road to be met with apathy bordering on the ungrateful from the staff within the shop. It made us think we should have donated to another more grateful charity. It seriously felt like having a ton of books dropped off ruined their day. What a shame.

Good range but bloody hell for a charity bookshop this place is pricey. Used books for basically the same as brand new? A lot of titles were £5+ despite being well worn, drawn in, damaged etc. Disappointing. Better off going to cancer research

Excellent variety of books, especially crime writers. Don't know if this was because it was the Harrogate crime writers festival? Friendly and helpful staff. Well done oxfam for having your books alphabetised by author. Offer of a free book for every six bought very welcome.

Exactly what it says, it's run by Oxfam to raise money for charity. It specialises in books, also has DVDs, music and magazines. As it relies on donated items, the stock is something pod an eclectic mix. But that - to me - is the attraction. You don't know what you'll find, except that it's quite likely to be unusual, possibly/probably out of print, and usually at a bargain price.

A select range of second-hand books. Oxfam bookshops are always a bit of a sterile shopping experience. There is plenty of room for more books.
