I find ordering anything online with M&S to be unreliable and a frustrating experience overall. Several times I've placed an order which is shown to be in stock, only to receive an email two weeks later advising that the delivery will be late. Then, a further two weeks later, another email informing of a refund with zero explanation. On enquiring, I'm told that there was no stock at the point of ordering, but an order was processed and a delivery arrangemed with royal mail, only for them to not hand anything to royal mail. Nothing more than a tepid apology, and admission that it happens all the time, from their customer service team. It's likely the last time we'll bother as despite the kids clothing being decent, H&M and Zara are just as good and far more reliable.

Exceptional customer service! I don’t usually write reviews but this can’t go a miss! Had a really good experience at M&S thanks to customer assistant Louise in the women’s department. It was very busy and she was friendly and helpful. You can tell she really cares about helping customers, nothing was too much trouble! A true asset to the company!

I visited M&S Harrogate today 27/8/2025 at about 5.20. Looking for a particular pair of trousers. I spoke to the delightful Esther and she was so helpful (and she smelt delicious) - can I say that? Nothing too much trouble and even got the staff on the tills involved. I love shopping in Harrogate. Thank you Esther.

I witnessed a manager speaking to a new member of staff horribly for not knowing how to put through a lemon on the till. Really shocked at how she reacted towards her staff member at such a tiny error.

This chain represents England for me! They everything; from food, clothes, shoes, cosmetics, gift items (wrapping, cards, etc), home textiles and more. Many of the items are M&S own brand and they keep a high standard for all items.
