B&Q York - Clifton Moor

I was stalked, to put it simply. A worker followed me into the gardening area before asking whether I "wanted to get to know him and 4 lads" or something like that. I said no, and quickly left, but I want him gone. Also, the rude glares I was getting from all the staff, who should've been doing their jobs instead of staring at me, were not appreciated.

We're taking B&Q to small claims over terrible advice on a £7k newly fitted bathroom. Their plumber went against the original design and recommended to my partner (female) to change the left-right placement of the fitted furniture to accommodate some pipework. My partner agreed (verbally) at the time, not realising the new placement would mean the bathroom mirror is over the toilet and the sink is in front of a window, so no mirror possible. After fitting, I saw this and realised it was wrong, but the correction will mean changing all of the pipework back to how it was originally and replacing the furniture, i.e. paying for unnecessary labour and paying for the furniture twice. I spoke to the manager at B&Q Clifton Moor, who said its our fault for agreeing to it. We had another bathroom booked in to be done after this, which I said I'd cancel if they didn't accept the error was theirs and fix at their cost. Her immediate reply was "Do you want me to cancel that now for you?". Absolutely zero customer service and a total lack of ownership that the problem is entirely theirs. We've paid for the bathroom on their finance plan, so it'll automatically get billed without us being able to withhold payment, meaning we're now going to have to take B&Q to small claims court on the basis they've provided bad advice and delivered a bathroom that is not fit for purpose.

Went today to buy a light fitting and some plants. The attitude of the 2 women on the till was shocking. I asked if it was only self service to get no answer just pointed at. When asked what are you pointing at she just said the scanner. Not friendly at all. I had to buy the light fitting as was having it fitted today but left the plants as I'm not giving my money to businesses that have no customer service, poor attitude and patronising tone. I have used this store many times in the past and never had a problem, I've always found the staff helpful and friendly. Not today though.

Staff are always really helpful at this B & Q, but when I went on Monday, John, in the Garden Centre at the time, was fantastic. Got the really heavy stuff on to a trolley, he went and got, and took it all out to my car after I paid. Thanks John, hugely appreciated your help.

Amount of times I've been over the years I've found it poorly stocked and missing many items. Timbers all bent out of shape and told unable to open a fresh pack dispite the 20-30 timbers on sale were crooked. Today was my last visit.
