This branch has the most uneducated and rude manager (Jon). Fortunately (or unfortunately) I managed to return my item to a different branch after his arrogant and ignorant response. Otherwise I would have taken the case to small claim court. Anyway for everyone, please be aware of your rights. As the purchase (contract) happens online, you have the right to cancel within 14 days with no reason and you get a refund. If you want to risk it and buy from argos, get your items delivered to avoid this incompetent manager. If you insist, at least pay by credit card so you can use section 75. It is sad I could not take them to court as another branch accepted the refund. They would have been fined for committing a criminal offence by rejecting a refund according to the law (The Consumer Contracts "Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges" Regulations 2013). This branch will go bust soon because of this manager as you can see from other reviews. Amazon prime and avoid the hassle.

This review is solely for Kate, the Manager on duty. We had placed an order using the machines in store on Friday but had not had any confirmation by email or a reservation number. On Friday we asked in store, asked the actual ‘store manager’ when we would get something, only to be blown off with a ‘it’s a new system’ answer. By Monday night, still nothing. We went back to the store and an associate pretty much gave us an ‘I don’t know’ response. Then, in swept Super-Kate! She overheard and took over. She found our order VERY quickly by working back from the item we had ordered, and before we knew it, she pulled it from the orders and we were done. Quick and painless. I couldn’t have been more grateful. Promote Kate. She deserves it for her customer focused attitude, problem solving skills, can-do approach, and smiley, bubbly demeanor!

Purchased a board game trivial pursuit, only got it from Argos as it stated it had 1200 questions and answer cards as opposed to the version I had seen on Amazon that stated 400 cards, after pur having and collecting it turns out the website was incorrect and it had only 400 cards. Considering it was twice the price I could have e got from amazon I contacted customer support to see what they could do. No apologies just standard responses to say I should drive to my nearest store (45mins away) and they would check the game and possibly give me a refund if I haven't opened it, obviously I had opened as it was only then I noticed the number of cards. Terrible customer service, as a long standing customer I can honestly say this will be the last purchase from argos. All it would have taken was a bit of understanding and for them to collect. After all it was thier mistake not mine

Quite obvious from the reviews, do not shop here, Argos used to be reputable but now it has been reduced to nothing. Really really terrible service, from the manager in particular, whom didn't have the decency to see me when trying to return a product at the front desk. I had evidence of being advised by another representative that it was okay but still refused at the desk. Okay. 6 hours later on the phone to several Argos representatives who quite clearly were not trained properly, ended with 'getting a call back' from this same manager the next day. No call has been received. Customer service does not exist here and it doesn't help it's the only Argos left in York. No wonder. (If I could post without a star I would)

Appalling customer service and discrimination against neurodivergent people!! Based on previous reviews, seems like manager is not a favourite amongst many and some staff are miserable. My husband is still very upset! He tried to refund an item on the 17/2/24 but was refused by manager so he followed instructions to bring back the original cover/case of headset. The issue is not being refused the refund, it was the way he was spoken to/ treated when he returned. He said the staff was talking too fast so he told them to slow down as he is autistic but whoever it was proceeded to talk louder in front of other customers?! He felt humiliated and noticed the staff were smirking and talking about him as he was leaving. He has reported it to head office, so Argos hopefully retrains or sacks these people who hate their jobs. I work in retail and even though it is busy with many customers, I would never treat people with non visible disabilities like that! They probably need to Google what neurodivergence even means hah.
