A thriving market town, Pickering frequently has something special to offer visitors. Just a few of the examples include the renowned annual '1940s War weekend' in October, the Traction Engine Rally in August, a '60s weekend and the Pickering Folk Festival. The North Yorkshire Moors Railway starts at Pickering and also runs special events.

For days out, why not visit nearby Flamingo Land Theme park and Zoo, Eden Camp Modern History Theme Museum or Whitby on the coast with its Captain Cook and Dracula connections.
