Pickering and North Yorkshire Moors Railway are only 7 miles away from Boonhill, Helmsley Castle, the famous walled garden and Duncombe Park are within a few miles too. We are surrounded by attractive small villages and market towns offering varied gift shops, museums and other attractions.

Scarborough, Robin Hoods Bay, Whitby and Filey are all within 30 miles and make for a great day out at the coast.

We have several National Trust and English Heritage properties within a reasonable driving distance plus Castle Howard where the film Brideshead Revisited was filmed.

We have our own airfield which can be located in Pooley's Guide.

A market is held in nearby Kirkbymoorside on Wednesdays, Helmsley on Fridays and Malton on Saturdays.
