Description

Holly-Garth is a comfortable self-catering home in a quiet part of Helmsley yet less than five minutes walk from the market square and the shops hotels and restaurants. The house has a gravelled forecourt with space for parking up to three cars and very private and enclosed courtyard garden at the rear with barbecue, covered seating area and patio with table and chairs. It is a spacious home from home for eight people or a cosy retreat for two. Gas central heating and electricity is included in the rental along with bed linen and towels.

There are four bedrooms upstairs, one of which is a double with en-suite bathroom. A sunny bedroom at the front of the house with a view over the rooftops to Helmsley Castle has twin beds which can be zipped together to make a superking bed. At the other end of the landing, there is a further double bedroom and another room with twin beds which can be zipped together to make a superking. The family bathroom has a power shower, WC and wash basin. On the ground floor there is a large well-equipped kitchen/dining room with electric double oven, gas hob, microwave and dishwasher and large fridge/freezer. There is also a washing machine and condenser dryer. Leading off the kitchen is a downstairs shower room with a WC and wash basin. There are two sitting rooms, one with a modern gas fire and French doors looking out onto the courtyard garden. The front sitting room has a log burner, large screen TV with Sky+ and DVD/Blu Ray player as well as a library of DVDs. The rear sitting room has a slightly smaller TV with DVD/Bluray player. Stair gates, a cot (no cot linen provided) and high chair are available for families with small children. Secure bicycle storage is provided. WiFi internet is available throughout the house. A starter pack of logs, coal and firelighters is provided for winter bookings.

A short walk from Holly-Garth will bring you to Helmsley's spectacular ruined castle and lovely walled garden. Shopping and dining are all within a few minutes' walk, as are horse riding and swimming at certain times of the year. The grandeur of Duncombe Park, seat of the Feversham family, is an easy half hour walk from Holly-Garth. The Yorkshire moors, Castle Howard, Nunnington Hall, Rievaulx Abbey and the Ryedale Folk Museum are all close by.

Holly-Garth is directly managed by the owners and a local caretaker.
