Located in the popular and historical coastal town of Whitby, the STUART DUCKETT DESIGN STORE is a place where the locally well known architectural designer has personally selected every design product that is the fruit of more than forty years of experience in the design industry. A multi space in which Stuart Duckett shows everything that he misses seeing in Whitby, his home town: unusual high quality well designed accessories and gifts, kitchenalia, soft furnishings and lighting, restored or re-designed retro furniture, the iconic ‘Whitby’ print, candles, fragrances, planters among others, sharing space with the products of his own creation such as cards and furniture. 

Products and Art are all arranged, lit and placed to project a cosmopolitan atmosphere and create a welcoming space for customers, as if at home. The Design Store creates an ambience of coastal, contemporary and country, drawing inspiration from the surrounding rustic moorland, the sea just yards away or classic designs of contemporary and retro. The pieces of vintage furniture from the 60s and 70s rekindle memories of Stuart‘s childhood and are restored or re-modelled to reflect a personal evolution without neglecting the beauty and simplicity. A space is also dedicated to a select range of architectural plants and planters.

The store has a floor area of 66 m² and contains, besides the retail space, a zone dedicated to the design studio and pop up gallery. A sunny outside space and seating provide the opportunity to enjoy a browse at the on line catalogue, enjoy a coffee, conversation; or just watch the world go by.
