Mechanical Fitter
<p>We’re recruiting on behalf of a well-established UK engineering and manufacturing business looking to add an experienced Mechanical Fitter to its team.This is a hands-on role suited to someone with a strong mechanical background who takes pride in producing high-quality work. You’ll be joining a busy engineering environment where safety, quality and attention to detail are essential.</p> <p>As a Mechanical Fitter, you’ll be responsible for the mechanical assembly, fitting and installation of engineered equipment and components, working from technical drawings and specifications.</p> <p>The Role:</p> <ul> <li>Carrying out mechanical fitting and assembly of equipment and components</li><li>Reading and interpreting engineering drawings, specifications and work instructions</li><li>Using hand tools, power tools and measuring equipment safely and accurately</li><li>Drilling, tapping, bolting and general mechanical assembly</li><li>Ensuring components are correctly aligned, fitted and secured</li><li>Carrying out inspections and checks throughout the assembly process</li><li>Identifying and reporting defects, faults or issues during fitting and assembly</li><li>Working closely with engineering, production and quality teams</li><li>Maintaining high standards of workmanship and housekeeping</li><li>Following site health & safety procedures at all times</li></ul> <p>What We’re Looking For:</p> <ul> <li>Previous experience as a Mechanical Fitter, Assembly Fitter or similar</li><li>A mechanical engineering or manufacturing background</li><li>Experience working from engineering drawings</li><li>Good practical knowledge of mechanical assembly techniques</li><li>Confidence using hand tools, power tools and measuring equipment</li><li>A strong understanding of health & safety within an engineering environment</li><li>Good attention to detail and a quality-focused approach</li><li>The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team</li></ul> <p>A relevant mechanical engineering qualification, apprenticeship or equivalent practical experience would be advantageous.</p>
