The Wildflower Meadow at Spilmans boasts a rich variety of flowers, including bright cornflowers, delicate poppies, and charming corn chamomile, as well as red and white campion. According to Tom Spilman, the owner of the family-run farm:
“We’ve had a brilliant start to the season with visitors really enjoying the beautiful meadow here at Church Farm.”
Over 50,000 seeds were sown last autumn, featuring early, mid, and late varieties to ensure a continuous display of colour throughout July and August. This careful planning means that visitors can enjoy a stunning array of flowers at any time during the summer season.
Activities And Attractions
In addition to the wildflower picking, Spilmans Farm offers a range of other activities that make it an ideal destination for families. The farm is also home to strawberry, raspberry, and blackberry picking, allowing guests to enjoy a taste of the summer harvest. Children can engage with nature through a nature trail that encourages them to spot clues and answer questions while exploring the working fruit fields. For those looking for refreshment, the Stone Barn Café provides a selection of delicious options, including brunches, lunches, wood-fired pizzas, and a variety of hot and cold drinks. To keep young visitors entertained, Spilmans features an indoor play barn equipped with pedal tractors, a ball pit, and a sand area. Outdoors, there are adventure play areas and bouncing pillows, ensuring that children have plenty of opportunities for fun, regardless of the weather.

Tickets to the Wildflower Meadow are included with entry to the strawberry fields, and the farm is open from Wednesday to Sunday until the end of August. Prices start at just £2.50 for individual pre-booked tickets purchased online, with discounts available for families and groups. While pre-booking is recommended to guarantee entry, walk-up admissions may be available, though they cannot always be guaranteed if the farm reaches capacity. Guests will be pleased to know that the ticket cost can be reimbursed for every £5.00 spent on fruit, making it an affordable day out for families looking to enjoy the great outdoors.
