We ate a wonderful meal whilst camping nearby. I can highly recommend trying the restaurant here. The fish was cooked to perfection, and melted in your mouth. The pies were also excellent. All the staff were so welcoming too and made us feel at home. I would love to stay here when we come back as the 16th century building is so beautiful. An absolute gem. The chef is very talented 👌
Super pub in a perfect location just outside the centre. The decor and feel is homely, clean, country-esque but still retains classic pub vibe and doesn’t feel “star-bucked” (ie like it’s been refurbed to look like every other pub in the world). Beer and food all good and everything felt like it was done with love and care. We stayed the night and received a proper Yorkshire welcome, even though they were clearly very busy. We’d asked if we could leave luggage early but they’d worked hard to make sure the room was ready for check-in early, to make our lives easier! The room itself was great, it had homely country charm, a new modern yet tasteful bathroom, all the things we needed for a short stay, and the view was of the church, village and nearby hills. Perfect. Nichola the landlady was awesome and went out of her way to make sure we had what we needed and she made us feel right at home. She even came to the rescue when we needed help with transport and sorted everything out gladly. Thank you Kings Head for making our weekend!
We had a really lovely 2 nights stay at The Kings Head. Perfect location, lovely room with a comfy bed, and a fantastic evening meal made by a great chef.. Nicole the manager is a fantastic host. We just felt very relaxed the whole time we were there. Thank you, and we will certainly be back. X
We had an absolutely fantastic time here over bank holiday weekend. The landlord and lady were great, the drinks and atmosphere were fab and they made our friends’ 10 year anniversary celebration extra special.
Arrived without having booked on a busy Saturday night and was told there were no tables but as we walked away the lovely landlady chased us out into the street to say she’d just found a table free. Dinner was plentiful and delicious, really lovely atmosphere. Would definitely recommend but probably worth booking ahead as we got lucky!
