|Bradford City AFC has exciting news for fans and the local community. The football club has teamed up with Dashe, a company that specialises in carbon reporting, to help monitor and reduce its environmental impact. This partnership will last for at least three years and aims to enhance the club's sustainability efforts at Mbanq Valley Parade.
Tracking emissions
As part of this collaboration, Dashe will track emissions from various activities, including:
Energy usage
Waste management
Travel
Supply chain operations
Matchday activities
One of the standout features of this partnership is the introduction of a live carbon figure for matchdays. This real-time data will be available on the club's website, allowing fans to see how their beloved team is working to combat climate change.

Commitment to Sustainability
Adam Keizer, the head of commercial at Bradford City, expressed enthusiasm about this new venture:
“We are delighted to welcome Dashe on board at the club. We have invested in our sustainability journey over the past 18 months through our multiple award-winning Greener Bantams initiative.”
This initiative has already earned recognition for its efforts in promoting eco-friendly practices within the club.
Keizer believes that partnering with Dashe will elevate the club's carbon reporting capabilities:
“By partnering with Dashe, we can now take our carbon reporting to the next level, using real-time data and analysis to put us at the forefront of tracking emissions.”
This means that not only will the club be more transparent about its carbon footprint, but it will also set an example for others in the football industry.
Dashe's Role
Andrew Woodward, the managing director at Dashe, praised Bradford City for its commitment to sustainability:
“Bradford City have done the work. They are not a club who needs to be told what sustainability looks like.”
This statement highlights the club's proactive approach to addressing environmental issues.
Woodward also emphasised the importance of accurate data:
“What they want now is honest numbers, in real time, which they can put their name to. Our job is to make the matchday carbon figure as reliable as the attendance figure.”
A sustainable future for football
The partnership between Bradford City AFC and Dashe is more than just a business agreement; it’s a step towards a more sustainable future for football. The football industry has a significant platform to promote sustainability, and Bradford City aims to lead the way.
