Landscapes in Leyburn

From the striking limestone 'shawl' to nearby Aysgarth Falls, Leyburn is best explored on foot, and the town's network of bridleways and paths are a perfect place to start. When you're ready to rest your legs and take a break, take a detour to the local chocolatier and the quaint tea rooms, or bid for a bargain at the town's antique auctions. Fun-loving families should look no further than the nearby 'Forbidden Corner' or a trip on the scenic Wensleydale Railway to Redmire.

As Seen on ITV1's The Dales

Completed in 1399 by Richard le Scrope, Chancellor of England to Richard II, its scars bear testament to over 600 years of fascinating history including involvement in the Pilgrimage of Grace, Mary Queen of Scots imprisonment and a Civil War siege so a trip to Bolton Castle is worth it for both the myriad of historical tales it can tell, but also to explore what was a major part of ITV1's recent TV show, The Dales.

Under the hammer

With over one hundred Fine Art, Country House, Antiques & Interiors and Specialist Collectors' sales a year, Tennants Auctioneers is well-established as one of the leading regional auction houses in the country. The acclaimed, purpose-built auction house in Leyburn boasts three salerooms, viewing areas, a mezzanine gallery and conference rooms for specialist sales, exhibitions and events.
