This autumn, film lovers in Yorkshire can look forward to an exciting line-up of classic movies returning to the big screen at Vue cinemas in locations such as Leeds, Sheffield, and Castleford. To celebrate significant anniversaries of some beloved films, Vue is bringing back a selection of iconic titles that promise to evoke nostalgia and entertain audiences of all ages.
Classic Films Make a Comeback


The season kicks off on 11 September with the much-anticipated return of Raiders of the Lost Ark, which marks its 45th anniversary this year. This iconic adventure film features Harrison Ford as Indiana Jones, a daring archaeologist who faces numerous challenges, including dodging booby traps and battling Nazis, all while searching for the legendary Ark of the Covenant.
Also making a comeback on the same day is The Transformers: The Movie, celebrating its 40th anniversary. This animated classic changed the way fans viewed the Transformers franchise, showcasing thrilling animation and an unforgettable soundtrack. Fans are encouraged to stick around for the credits, as they hint at the exciting future of the series.
Spooky Season Highlights
As Halloween approaches, Vue will feature several spine-chilling films. From 16 October, audiences can experience the eerie atmosphere of The Others, which celebrates its 25th anniversary this year. Starring Nicole Kidman, this horror film is filled with suspenseful moments and a shocking twist that keeps viewers on the edge of their seats.
Another cult classic returning to theatres on the same date is The Craft, which marks its 30th anniversary. This film follows a group of teenage girls who dabble in witchcraft, leading to unexpected and often dangerous consequences. In addition, the iconic slasher film Scream, which also turns 30 this year, will return from 23 October, offering fans a chance to relive the thrills and chills that made it a staple of the horror genre.
Thrilling Returns
On 25 September, audiences can revisit Manhunter, a gripping thriller that celebrates its 40th anniversary. Based on the novel Red Dragon by Thomas Harris, this film introduces viewers to the chilling character of Hannibal Lecter, setting the stage for one of cinema's most infamous villains.
October will also see the return of two modern classics: Casino Royale and Pan’s Labyrinth, both of which celebrate their 20th anniversaries this year. These films will hit the big screen from 2 October and 30 October, respectively, offering fans a chance to experience them in a cinema setting once again.
Season Finale with a Legend
To conclude this cinematic celebration, Vue will screen the original Rocky on 6 November. This iconic sports drama, which celebrates its 50th anniversary, follows the journey of a small-time boxer who gets a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to fight the heavyweight champion. With its inspiring story and memorable training montages, this film is sure to resonate with audiences new and old.
