Vue Cinema York

Arrived at the Vue with my client who has a disability. Waited in line to get our tickets then headed to the bar seating area to get a drink. I helped get my client settled and approached the bar only feet from our table. I was told by a senior member of staff that I had to go back to the tills selling popcorn and get someone to come and serve me at the bar. I couldn't leave client as she had dementia and a habit of wandering off. I sat back down only to watch people going to the bar and being served drinks. Appalling.

We payed 16.99 a head for the 'Ultra Lux' seats that were not comfortable, with the additional fact that popcorn was wedged and covered all three of our seats but also other customers seats in the same row as u and in the two rows ahead of us. The disabled toilets assure that a member of staff checks the disabled toilets regularly, but apparently disabled people don't need the bathroom basics...like soap. Which is not only highly unsanitary, but absolutely disgraceful. Especially if someone has had an accident, and or wants to practice good hygiene after using said bathroom.

Review is mainly of Vue Ultra Lux seats but also their cleanliness at this cinema - Not worth the extra money Seats at this Vue share one table per 2 seats (normal seats have 1 per seat) & only 1 drinks cooler per 2 seats (annoying buzz from cooler & lights up blie distracting you / others). The seats at this particular cinema had not been cleaned - this is the second time I experienced this here. The first was put down to a one off but second was just annoying. Popcorn strewn all over the seat & all down between the cushion sides / back - see photos photos These seats are not cheap & it just is not the experience / cleanliness I would expect. As a side issue the floor around our particular seat at this cinema was requiring repair and had been ripped up and warning tape applied - again not the premium service Vue sells for these seats

We took our grandkids to see the Minoins vs Monsters film. We paid £21 for five double scoop ice creams with toppings (15% discount). The staff were helpful and friendly, while the Vue website was completely the opposite. We had a combination of Sky and Octopus vouchers, and trying to book six seats was appalling. The app times you out after 8-10 minutes, which is not enough time to achieve the task unless your very computer wizard. Once timed out, it retains your selection, and will not let you edit them until much later. We found the booking process frustrating, and needlessly complicated. The booking process is not for the faint hearted, unless your paying by cash or card.

Easy to book online. Pick n mix has changed from paying per 100g to now being a set price depending on the size of box you choose, which I think is a great upgrade. The recliner seats are very comfortable! Nice and clean, would recommend
