The Tropical Butterfly House Wildlife Conservation Park in South Yorkshire is gearing up for an exciting summer with its ‘Tropical Treasures’ trail, set to run from Saturday, 18 July to Monday, 31 August 2026. This fun-filled event is perfect for families looking to explore the wonders of the rainforest while learning about the importance of conservation and protecting endangered species.

Tropical Treasures Trail

As visitors embark on the Tropical Treasures trail, they will use a special stamp book to follow clues scattered throughout the park. The aim is to discover various rainforest friends and learn how to become a champion for endangered species. This interactive experience not only promises adventure but also educates participants about the delicate balance of nature and the importance of preserving wildlife.

Animal Antics Show

In addition to the trail, guests can enjoy the daily ‘Animal Antics’ show, which features free-flying birds and a range of amazing animals. This show aims to highlight the incredible diversity of wildlife and the need for conservation efforts. Visitors will have the opportunity to engage with the animals and learn from the park keepers during informative talks about the park's most vulnerable species.

Fun Activities and Prizes

The Tropical Butterfly House is encouraging a festive atmosphere by inviting visitors to dress in their brightest tropical attire or as their favourite jungle animals. Those who join in the fun could win spot prizes! Additionally, there will be a conservation-themed colouring competition and treasure maps hidden around the park for guests to find.

Other Attractions

Beyond the trail and shows, there are plenty of other activities to keep families entertained. The park features:

  • A tractor-trailer ride that takes visitors on a journey through the grounds.

  • A Dino Trail, where kids can dig for fossils in the Dino Dig.

  • Play areas including sandpits and a splash zone for outdoor fun.

Parents can relax in the park’s beautiful picnic areas, enjoying refreshments from Lottie’s Coffee Lounge, which offers a range of summer coolers, snacks, and afternoon tea options.

Summer Savings Scheme

The Tropical Butterfly House is also part of the UK Government’s Great British Summer Savings Scheme. This initiative allows families to benefit from reduced admission prices and discounts on children’s meals until Tuesday, 1 September 2026. Visitors are encouraged to collect a ‘Visit and Save Card’ during their visit, which provides further savings on return trips to the park.

Plan Your Visit

The Tropical Treasures Trail will be open daily from 10 am to 4:30 pm during the summer holidays, and normal admission charges apply. Those interested in participating can find more details and book tickets online. This event not only promises a memorable day out but also supports important conservation efforts, making it a worthwhile visit for families in Yorkshire and beyond.
