|A new initiative called the Cultural Passport scheme is set to benefit young people in York and North Yorkshire by providing them with exciting opportunities in the arts, culture, and heritage sectors. Recently launched by the City of York Council, this programme aims to encourage creativity among young people aged 11 to 18 from specific communities by giving them free access to various cultural experiences. As part of this initiative, the council is now seeking project proposals from local organisations that can help deliver these enriching activities.
Funding Opportunities Available
The Cultural Passport is funded by the York and North Yorkshire Combined Authority, and it aims to remove financial barriers that often prevent young people from accessing cultural experiences. This means that organisations working in the arts, culture, and heritage fields can apply for funding to support their projects. These projects should focus on providing young people with opportunities to learn new skills and explore their creative talents.
David Skaith, the Mayor of York and North Yorkshire, expressed his enthusiasm for the programme:

What the Programme Offers
The aim of the Cultural Passport programme is to inspire young people and help them develop their creativity. Successful Pilot Projects
