|This weekend, the vibrant city of York will come alive as it hosts the highly anticipated Arla Protein York 10K on Sunday, 2nd August 2026. Alongside the main event, younger athletes will have their chance to shine in the York Mini and Junior races, making it a fun-filled day for families and supporters.
Event Details
The Arla Protein York 10K is set to kick off at 9.30am, and runners will navigate a scenic route that takes them past some of York's most famous landmarks. Participants will get to experience the beauty of York Racecourse, the historic city walls, Clifford's Tower, and the magnificent York Minster as they make their way through the course. Following the 10K race, the Junior races will begin at noon, followed by the Mini races at 12.30pm, allowing younger runners to partake in the excitement.
Road Closures and Traffic Restrictions
To ensure the safety of all participants and spectators, several temporary road closures will be implemented across the city. These closures will begin on Saturday, 1st August at 12 noon and will remain in effect until approximately 3pm on Sunday, 2nd August. Key roads affected include:
