Cameron McInnes comes to the York Knights after spending the last four years with the Cronulla Sharks in Australia’s National Rugby League (NRL). His career in the NRL spans an impressive 13 years, during which he also played for the South Sydney Rabbitohs and the St. George Illawarra Dragons. Known for his relentless defence and powerful carries, McInnes has played over 200 top-flight games in Australia.
One highlight of his career is the record he set for the most tackles in a single match—81 tackles against the Penrith Panthers in 2023. This statistic showcases not only his skill but also his tireless work ethic on the field. In addition to his club achievements, McInnes made his debut for New South Wales in the State of Origin series in 2024, representing his state in one of the most prestigious rugby competitions in Australia.
