It's a beautiful and quiet little sanctuary on top of a hill in the middle of the forest!! However, if you're after a lovely peaceful campsite it is the perfect place. You aren't allowed to play music loudly at ANY time, there are no ballgames or noise after 9pm. The rules are upheld. Perfect if that's your bag! If you want a rowdy campsite where you can make whatever noise you like regardless of the other campers, this isn't the place for you, but if you and your family are happy to enjoy the sounds of the forest and enjoy your holiday with consideration for the other 'quiet' campers this is PERFECT! It has a family vibe and surrounded by trees. The owners are really kind and work hard to keep their place just right. Will definitely return (well, already have and will again!)

We have been camping for years and since discovering this ‘little peace of heaven’ we are serial returners. A working farm the site is small & peaceful. Helen goes the extra mile to make sure your stay is perfect and is on hand for any issues. We love that the site has strict rules on booking that are re-enforced on arrival. The site is quiet from 9pm which is perfect for those that are physically active during the day & have young families which we are and have. During our stay a family was incredibly rude to Helen who asked the children to put their bikes away and quiet down after 9pm. This was upsetting to witness as not only were the children rude & disrespectful the male parent was also aggressive and rude. What people need to appreciate is that this site is an extension of Richard & Helen’s home environment. If you want a place where your children can roam unsupervised and for you to play loud music and drink into the night this is not a site for you. The location is amazing and I recommend Cedar Barn Farm Shop for a small dog exercise field, great dining and local produce.

My recollections of Richards experience differ somewhat. I stayed at the same time, and witnessed not just his but his kids rude, aggressive behaviour towards the owner. The campsite rules are very clear and Helen also very politely makes them clear again on arrival . This was my first time camping in over 25 years,. The site is small and quiet, and so it should be, it's a working farm. The facilities are more than adequate and Helen couldn't be more helpful, especially as they were mid harvest. Richard, may I suggest that you take accountability for not just your behaviour but also your children's. It is unacceptable to speak to anyone in such a manner and then complain publicly about the fact that you didn't follow site rules that are clearly stated on booking. A lovely site and it won't be my last stay!

Another great stay here. Perfect location in the middle of the forest with access to the trails. Loads of space left so you’re not on top of each other and the kids have space to play, which means lots of campsite friends are made. Clean well maintained facilities. And Helen really cares about the site and the campers, helping us out when our tent leaked or a wet pack up is looming. Helen also makes sure rules are applied so it is genuinely quiet when you want to go to sleep, and inconsiderate campers are reminded their noise carries. Such a lovely calm and peaceful stay. And the ice cream is really good too!

It was my first time staying at High Rigg, however my partner has stayed multiple times and we will definitely be returning next year too with our new addition! Helen is very helpful and lovely, always around on site if needed and was very understanding when I lost the key due to baby brain (sorry again) luckily we found it a few days later 😂 The camp site is very peaceful lots of room to play games or relax the showers and outlets are always checked and clean The site is situated perfectly to go and explore dalby forest and its stunning walks/parks. We visited flamingo land with the kids while staying as it’s just a short car ride away and also took the opportunity to visit go ape! The pods are very clean and comfortable especially for a non camping girl, it’s the perfect inbetween, there’s a small heater inside for those chillier nights and sockets to plug in a fridge etc, I thoroughly enjoyed my first camping experience. The weather made it extra nice. Thanks for a lovely stay and memories
