We tried out this South Indian restaurant randomly today evening in Wakefield and it was full of surprises. Really loved its traditional ela chicken biryani and panner chilli. The quantity and quality did each inch justice to the chef's hard work. The ambience was very good and proper dine-in feeling with variety of South Indian dishes and traditional ones too at a very ressonable pricing point. Gonna be our go-to South Indian restaurant in Wakefield from now on. They also give special weekend offers like on Saturdays, they offer 2 thalassery chicken biryani at 13.99 whereas 1 is for 8.99. A must try out Indian restaurant recently opened in Wakefield.

I had a wonderful experience at Treacle Restaurant. The Sadhya was truly amazing and reminded me of real homemade food. Every dish felt comforting and authentic, just like eating at home. The flavors were perfect, and the hospitality made the meal even more special. A memorable dining experience overall.

So with a lot of expectation and excitement, I went to this restaurant with family and friends as they were bringing the first time Onam saddya in Wakefield. But their food and service poured water on my excitement. All the foods were dead cold, sambhar was one of the worst I ever had smell of raw spice was coming, I am not a Malyali but I cook better sambhar than that. Few veggie options, after first serving all of them were standing in the corner not even once coming or asking if we needed anything! Now this was not my first visit to this place I have been there a few times Every time, I was disappointed if anything I liked Next time I repeated the order it would be a disaster. No Consistency at all. This sadya was heavily priced at 20.99 which was not at all worth it. The only thing I enjoyed was catching up with friends, dressing up, and taking some photos! That's why they deserve two stars! I mean who goes to a restaurant for this purpose! People go there for food! If treacle management are reading this review please get a good chef! That's the key to a good restaurant! People may be visiting now as it's the only Kerala food-serving restaurant nearby but this won't last long if the food remains so! If the food is good will be happy to pay, but if it's like this unfair to pay the hefty amount you charge for tasteless food!

We visited Treacle Wakefield as a group of five and had an absolutely fantastic dining experience. We tried a variety of dishes – Kizhiporotta, Chicken Manthi, Paalkappa Beef, Pazhampori Beef, Meen Pollichathu, Kallappam, and the Thalasseri Dum Biriyani. Every single item was packed with flavor and tasted truly authentic – just like you'd find in Kerala. The Kizhiporotta was rich and aromatic, the Paalkappa Beef was beautifully tender and spicy, and the Meen Pollichathu was perfectly cooked with a delicious masala. The Pazhampori with beef was a nostalgic and tasty combo, and the Chicken Manthi was full of depth and flavor. But the highlight for me was definitely the Thalasseri Dum Biriyani – incredibly fragrant, perfectly spiced, and easily one of the best I’ve had. Another pleasant surprise – the food was not as expensive as I expected, especially considering the quality and portion sizes. Great value for money! The service was warm and welcoming, and the ambiance was cozy. We truly enjoyed every bite and will definitely be back. Highly recommended for anyone looking to enjoy real Kerala cuisine.
