Warning ⚠️ Scam! But you can avoid it! You're standing in front of the charger and the prompt "touch screen to start" appears. Meanwhile, an advertisement plays in the upper third of the screen. A brief QR code appears, but it disappears very quickly. You don't pay attention to the upper third because it contains ads. You're already plugging in your car, scanning your credit card, etc. You're fully occupied. You continue charging, greasy. But here's the kicker: Warning ⚠️! Far above is a sign (see photo) stating that you have to pay a £100 ⚠️ penalty if you don't register your car at the hotel (Holiday Inn)! If you simply drive off as usual after charging, you'll have a debt collection agency on your tail two weeks later. What to do? Go to reception and register your car with its license plate number. The parking lot is monitored by Eyewatch, who will also send the debt collection notice. If you've already been charged without registering at reception and the letter arrives, you're instructed to call Holiday Inn and provide the collection number. Do NOT pay the bill. Holiday Inn will then cancel it. Nevertheless, it's incredibly annoying.
