Lovely cottage, still had some dated pieces insitu, ambient environment, clean and spacious enough for a party including adults and children. Love the fact that phone signal is erratic so we were able to have conversations and not stayed glued to devices (be advised there is WiFi available we chose to hump on the excuse to keep the kids off devices). Spacious green garden with playhouse (the kids loved enacting and concocting drama from memory here). The games available (small indoor snooker table, table soccer, rugby ball, football, table tennis, monopoly etc, we didn't even get to use the board games we brought with us)kept everyone engaged. The host seems to have thought of everything because there were times we needed items one may have at home for convenience and low and behold, it is here. Good parking spaces. It is brilliant.
Spent a week here. A big place with big garden (not overlooked) Struggled to move in the kitchen because of a huge dining table. A strange layout. Top floor has a double bedroom, but you have to go through another bedroom to use the stairs. I suppose it's ok if you are a family or very close friends. 4 ground floor bedrooms, though 2 of them are separated by folding doors, which didn't close properly. Not ideal if occupants are snorers, or you fancy a bit of romance. Double bed in games room was very comfy. 2 bathrooms not enough for the property in my opinion. Always queueing to use them. Property was nice and clean. Enjoyed playing table tennis in the garden. Would stay again if visiting that part of the world.
Fantastic location in a beautiful village, close to York. The house is stunning and lovingly renovated. We had a lovely gathering there and really enjoyed the large kitchen and living room which are connected, so perfect for entertaining. My only downside is there is a lot of dust in the property but this is easily rectified. Thanks!
Great place to stay in a group
