Mike Bubbins Brings His Ideasman Tour to Yorkshire in 2026 and 2027

Fans of comedy with a bit of character are in for a treat next year. Mike Bubbins — the Welsh comic, actor and moustachioed master of nostalgia — is hitting the road for his brand-new UK tour, Ideasman, which will run from September 2026 to April 2027. The tour will stop off in Sheffield and Leeds, giving Yorkshire audiences the chance to see one of the most entertaining and quick-witted performers in British comedy live on stage.

Leeds Town Hall – Friday 12 March 2027

Tickets for both Yorkshire dates are expected to sell fast, as this marks Bubbins’ first major UK tour since his hit BBC sitcom Mammoth and his acclaimed stand-up special Throwback.

The man behind the moustache

If you’ve caught him on TV, you’ll know that Mike Bubbins is not your average comedian. Known for his retro style, sharp timing and laid-back delivery, he’s a natural storyteller with a knack for turning everyday moments into comedy gold. His BBC 2 sitcom Mammoth became the channel’s biggest debut comedy in five years — with a second series arriving in December 2025 — and his quick wit has made him a regular on panel shows like Would I Lie To You?, House of Games and Celebrity Mastermind.

Off screen, he co-hosts the hit podcast The Socially Distant Sports Bar, where his charm and sense of humour shine alongside real-life friends Elis James and Steff Garrero. Before comedy, he was even a professional rugby player, PE teacher and — unbelievably — a finalist in the European Elvis Tribute Championships. It’s a CV like no other, and his new show promises stories from every corner of it.

What to expect from Ideasman

The Ideasman tour is classic Bubbins — a mix of smart observations, old-school warmth and absurdly funny tales. He’s described it himself as a show about “the thoughts, stories and mad ideas that pop into my head — the kind of stuff no one else would think of, or probably shouldn’t.”

Expect thick-and-fast gags, hilarious detours and a night that feels as cosy as it is chaotic. Or, as The Telegraph put it, “delightfully silly… the jokes come thick and fast.”
