At Joseph Turner we are immensely proud of our Yorkshire heritage. Based in Thirsk, North Yorkshire, we’re lucky to have some of the best suppliers of quality fabrics and yarns on our doorstep, which means that where possible we can source from local suppliers. This also enables us to build personal and long-standing relationships with our suppliers, helping us to ensure that we meet the highest possible standards for our customers.

The beautiful Yorkshire countryside which surrounds us greatly influences the colour palette of each collection. Local country traditions also inspire our designs, such as our country shirts which feature heritage Tattersall checks and draw on decades of horse racing tradition here in Thirsk.

We are particularly proud of our selection of premium tweed for Spring/ Summer ‘15 which is woven for us in two mills; Johnston’s of Elgin in Scotland and locally in Yorkshire by Abraham Moon, where deep-rooted traditions still produce a superior quality cloth.

All of our lambswool still comes from one of Britain’s oldest mills, Z Hinchcliffe & Sons, situated in the Yorkshire Pennines. This family-run mill has spun quality yarns for over 200 years and produces the best quality lamsbwool you can buy.

It is through a firm adherence to old-fashioned methods and a passion for using the finest quality fabrics that we can ensure the highest standards for our clothing; after all, traditional quality fabrics use only the finest yarns and dyes and are made to last.

Furthermore, each item of clothing is tailored with meticulous attention to detail so you can be reassured that whether it’s the working button cuffs on our jackets, or gussets in our formal shirts we don’t cut corners when it comes to making our garments.
