At Joseph Turner we are immensely proud of our Yorkshire heritage. Based in Thirsk, North Yorkshire, we’re lucky to have some of the best suppliers of quality fabrics and yarns on our doorstep, which means that where possible we can source from local suppliers. This also enables us to build personal and long-standing relationships with our suppliers, helping us to ensure that we meet the highest possible standards for our customers.
The beautiful Yorkshire countryside which surrounds us greatly influences the colour palette of each collection. Local country traditions also inspire our designs, such as our country shirts which feature heritage Tattersall checks and draw on decades of horse racing tradition here in Thirsk.

There is a great comfort in tradition; the sense that some things are as they always have been, which is why we are committed to sourcing suppliers with real integrity and why we are so passionate about the fabrics we choose.
We are particularly proud of our selection of premium tweed for Spring/ Summer ‘15 which is woven for us in two mills; Johnston’s of Elgin in Scotland and locally in Yorkshire by Abraham Moon, where deep-rooted traditions still produce a superior quality cloth.
All of our lambswool still comes from one of Britain’s oldest mills, Z Hinchcliffe & Sons, situated in the Yorkshire Pennines. This family-run mill has spun quality yarns for over 200 years and produces the best quality lamsbwool you can buy.

It is through a firm adherence to old-fashioned methods and a passion for using the finest quality fabrics that we can ensure the highest standards for our clothing; after all, traditional quality fabrics use only the finest yarns and dyes and are made to last.
Furthermore, each item of clothing is tailored with meticulous attention to detail so you can be reassured that whether it's the working button cuffs on our jackets, or gussets in our formal shirts we don't cut corners when it comes to making our garments.

This review is for the factory shop which is on site. Offers a good range of high quality items including production samples and damaged stock ie a proper factory outlet. Almost all jackets are 40L, most clothes are medium size but a sprinkling of other sizes throughout. Some deep discounts but mostly good value - worth travelling if you are the sizes above ! Shop open Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday 10-3.
You might have changed your website to say you weren't open today. Nice wasted journey.....
Jumpers are decent enough quality - when you wear them once. They shrink after washing. And again on a second. Then you complain and they lecture you what water temperature is when washing. Must be by hand. Ive had plenty jumpers over years and even cheap makes are better than this With FAR better customer service. But then everyone seems to have better customer service than this bunch of grasping Yorkshire - wimmin. They sent the (BADLY shrunken to half size just about) jumper back, saying they refused to replace or refund - a clear case of "read the fine print" - the worst customer service from any clothes company I have ever experienced.
Have just received my Fripp Deck Loafers. Excellent quality and fit (half sizes available). As good as if not better than my Sebago deck shoes but a good bit cheaper. Very professional company. I will buy more quality gents goods from this company rather than the really boring 'designer' gear now found in the gents departments of well known stores that used to be good for finding well made clothing for well dressed gentlemen.
Perfect service answered phone fast. Rang back a month later to order a second pair of sandals and offer was still valid. Highly recommend. Excellent quality sandals too!
