Pangea Bar Restaurant

Have been to Pangea a few times and always had a good experience. Returned yesterday and managed to secure an outside table in the sunshine. Live DJ playing so good atmosphere and music. Went to the bar for drinks and was provided a menu, but advised all drinks were £2 more than listed as it's an old menu. My friend asked for a mojito but the bar staff couldn't make one. I selected a bottle of Malbec to share, which was priced at £32. Started drinking the wine and noticed it says on the label that it's an Asda wine! A quick search shows it's readily available at £7.98 a bottle. Really disappointed, I don't mind paying for premium labels or ingredients, but to charge 3 times its resale value on a mediocre bottle is terrible for customer experience and value for money.

Quite a poor show, let's begin... Tapas offered outside on the board but not inside on menu so a little confusing unless we read it wrong. Hostess inappropriately dressed. Red wine was looked for in the fridge and customer asked if they would like ice in it. Loud music obviously fans of dua lipa. More staff than customers. Decor could do with some modernisation. As could the menu.. so it was a bad experience but there is potential.

Myself and my wife went in on Friday 6 September 2024,there were only a handful of people in, it was my wife's birthday and we had been to Dower house for a meal which was fantastic, I was driving so wanted a coffee and my wife is on medication so wanted a soft drink, we were given our drinks, the bar was OK but too be honest is was the people and atmosphere that was just awful, a man calling himself John was straight in both of our faces grabbing my wife, arms all over her and than putting his fingers in her mouth, it was really bad and my poor wife was so shocked she didn't say anything but we left really quickly, she has been upset all weekend, we are a very normal couple who were both too shocked to say anything, didn't want to cause a fuss or trouble but we certainly didn't expect behaviour like this in a nice place like bawtry, we have always thought it had class, I think the owners who were there should be a bit more careful about their over the top customers because we won't be returning and wouldn't recommend it to anyone, we both have a good sense of humour and are friendly people but this man's behaviour was really bad ,I hope the owners read this and think about what is acceptable behaviour in their bar

Had my daughters 18th Birthday party here last night. Asif and his Bar staff were amazing, couldn't have done anymore for Alex or all of her guests. We had an amazing night, highly recommend!
