King's Wood

Really easy access walk for those who have four legged friends in need of some exercise. Paths are well trodden with an easy circuit to follow. My only warning would be to stick to the paths if your pooch is not used to the countryside as there many sweet chestnut trees with lots of last years burrs decomposing. Even though Pippa is used to the woods she still found it a little hard going. All in all, a nice place to stretch your legs and exercise your best friend.

Unfortunately, this upset me. Its such a beautiful large wooded area. Nice big beautiful trees and loads of different areas to walk and explore. The reason why it upset me is because it was dirty, signs of fire pits everywhere and worst of all discarded needles. I didn't feel it was safe for my 5 year old son nor my dog.

It's a lovely wood and an absolute fave of mine. It's getting a bit overgrown with Brambles and Nettles in places so in need of more management. It does get very muddy in spots to usually where the cyclists churn up the ground. The worst bits are the littering, fire debris and dirty dog walkers not clearing there dog mess up. A lovely woodland area great for a short walk. Unfortunately, there's a very busy road on one side and a well used railway on the other making it harder to really relax
