Charming village with lots to see, situated just a few minutes drive from Roseberry Topping and an ideal base to explore the northern part of the North York Moors. Attractions include the Captain Cook Schoolroom Museum, Waterfall Park and "Captain Cook's Cottage" monument. Plenty of good independent shops to visit and some great pubs. A morning walk from Levenside following the river Leven up to the Waterfall Park was a very pleasant start to the day.
Beautiful village. Perfect for picnics. Kid friendly. Clear water for kids to play. Aesthetic views.
Lovely village. Great place to start a walk or bike ride. Plenty of places for a brew or snack
MY boyfriend and I stopped, pulled over, to sit and eat lunch on our travel elsewhere. Nice clean area.Benches to sit. Parked sensibly along the roadside. We stayed as long as it took to eat and stretch our legs. Pleasant ambience...Nice greenery!
Great little village below the foothills of the Cleveland hills. Associated with the young James Cooks schooling with the beautiful River leven running through the centre. Noted for one of the best ice cream shops around this area. Well worth the time to enjoy one
