I do hope this pub will "survive". Cosy atmosphere, with fire roaring. The young guy kept an eye on it all the times and topped it up. Lovely, friendly lady at the bar. We felt so welcome! Merry Xmas

My friends and I visited the Old Glen House the first night I arrived in Leeds (I live in the US). The steak and ale pie was amazing, as was the apple/rhubarb dessert!!! (Truly the best beef pie I've ever had). We then travelled all the way to the Scottish Highlands for a week, eating at pubs and restaurants along the way. Out of our entire trip, The Old Glen House was the best food and had our favorite employees. They made us feel welcome in their home. I highly recommend the pies as well as the chicken burgers (My friend said it was the best he's ever eaten). Go to the Old Glen House! And while you're there, stroll down to the Old Glen in the woods just behind it. It's beautiful.

Depressing. This was once a 'happening' place to go to, and it could be again. They just need to get the basics right: clear the tables of mountains of glasses, don't expect people to want to sit at a table swimming with beer, don't ignore people when they come in, update the decor, sort out the glaring emergency lights that are permanently on, do simple but good pub food. Do this and people will come. Such a shame to see it in such a state!

Moderating this as I know the pub is struggling right now. Maybe we could have some fixed hours listed, even if they’re short, so people know whether to bother walking over.

Just stopped here in passing and had a delicious flapjack and tiffin. Hot chocolate and latte was also good.
