Has been recently taken over by Mustard Pubs and we visited this afternoon to find we were one of 2 couples in the pub! The place hasn’t changed, nice decor and the menu looked lovely (didn’t eat so can’t vouch for it) but think the new owners are missing a trick with their marketing. The website isn’t finished and only has the lunch menu on there so no idea what’s on offer before booking. We will return as really like the place but hope the management step up the marketing to make sure they get the footfall needed to make it a success.

Visited Friday for some lunch. Service was excellent. Staff were very polite and attentive. Both food and drink was great. Very well presented. Really enjoyed sitting outside. Well worth a visit.

We pre booked their Xmas festive menu tonight and one word describes the food... Delicious. Great menu choice. Very attentive staff and overall a great night at an extremely reasonable price. Compliments to the chef and all the staff who worked really hard to make it a lovely night.

We visited today 7/01/2026 and so disappointed. We visited early December last year and had our meal refunded as the quiche was reheated and no taste to the shawarma chicken. We were regular visitors so took it as a one off, but after today I will not visit again. I had salt & pepper chicken and chips. The chips were cold . There was only one other table of four people in, so absolutely no excuse to serve cold food. I spoke to the staff member who apologised and brought me another portion. There was a huge piece of raw onion on top of the burger (some may like this, I don’t) the burger wasn’t piping hot and over cooked. And the bun crispy as though kept somewhere warm. My friend had wraps which she said were okay but not worth the money. We spent £40 between us but certainly not worth it. It’s such a lovely pub and the staff are lovely so it’s such a shame but it’s understandable why it’s not busy when the food is so bad.

We came here for tea whilst staying at Hollins Hall for my birthday. The food was amazing, I had the Barbers smothered chicken and it was genuinely the tastiest chicken dish I've ever had! The decor was really nice and I particularly liked the ambience where the log fire is situated. The staff that looked after us were all very pleasant, Kate, Kaitlyn and Grace. Great choice of drinks on draught, we will most definitely return.
