I had an amazing stay at the Copper Kettle. The area is very quiet and the quality of the room was amazing and it was very clean. The breakfast was delicious and it was free! The service was excellent, would recommend to anyone.
Walk in and smell the grease from the fryer. Stair railings were sticky/greasy to the touch. Kitchen appeared unorganized and dirty. Morning breakfast questionable quality. Electric in third floor room questionable. Please avoid this place.
We weren’t staying at the Copper Kettle but 6 of us were looking for some wholesome food that wasn’t too expensive. And that’s exactly what we got. 3 courses of food like your grandma might have served. One example, Soup, steak & kidney pie, spuds & veg then syrup sponge and custard for £9.75 (yes, for all 3 courses!) The couple that have run the restaurant for 47 years were charming & delightful to talk to. If you’re in the area, you should give it a try.
Lovely meal here and prices we're from 20 years ago , lovely couple
Lovely little place! The hosts were wonderful, clean and tidy full of charm! It’s like going back in time, so comforting. Also don’t understand the bad reviews here? What you see is what you get - it’s like staying at your nans when Argos catalogues & lemon sherbets where the dogs B’s. Generous food portions! Even better boarding prices! Clean and comfy beds and bathroom (out dated of course but that’s the whole point) quirky and charming. If you want grey, mrs hintch style modern corporate vibes then don’t stay here. If you want nostalgia, comfy and happy stay here!
