The Casterton Grange Estate

This is honestly the most incredible property! Casterton Grange is on another level - We booked for our family of 16 over the Christmas period. The house was decorated beautifully with Christmas trees, and was the most amazing environment for us all to catch up and reconnect and have quality family time over Christmas. The bedrooms are all incredible, and there are so many gorgeous places to hang out and chill out, the pool room is ace & the dining room in the conservatory is very much the perfect setting for large family dinners. We had the best Christmas! The estate is set in the most breathtaking countryside, and just a short walk from Kirby Lonsdale which is a gorgeous town with beautiful pubs, a lovely ice cream shop, and plenty of cute shops! Casterton is a family run estate Anneka, Paddy & their team are all amazing, they really do make you feel like your staying at your own house! It’s so welcoming and cosy. We didn’t want to leave!

We stayed at The Stables at Casterton Grange for 7 nights over Christmas and had a wonderful, relaxing break. From the moment we arrived, the festive touches made it feel really special.The beautiful red bow outside was stunning, and inside there was a real Christmas tree, which created such a cosy, welcoming atmosphere. The accommodation itself was excellent: clean, comfortable, and very well equipped. We especially enjoyed using the hot tub, which was perfect for unwinding, particularly in such a peaceful and quiet location. The setting is ideal in tranquil countryside, yet only a short walk to the local pub and a short drive to Kirkby Lonsdale, which was a real bonus. The hosts were extremely welcoming, and communication from Patrick was excellent throughout, making everything easy from booking to departure. A lovely extra touch was the generous welcome pack, including food, wine, and champagne, which was very much appreciated and made our stay feel extra special. Overall, a fantastic place to stay, relaxing, festive, and thoughtfully hosted. We wouldn’t hesitate to return and would highly recommend The Stables at Casterton Grange to others.

What an amazing place to celebrate my significant birthday. Everyone had the most fabulous time from the casino evening to local walks to visiting local eateries, all soo perfect. Just couple of suggestions for improvement the bottom of hot tubs were slimy and a outdoor towel drying area would have been appreciated; the technology was a little difficult to log in to but the vast majority was absolutely fabulous. Very highly recommended

Perfection from start to finish. Casterton Grange is the perfect venue. We had our wedding here in August and in the words of our 160 guests it was 'the best wedding they have ever been to'. Finding a venue for 160 people in the Lake District and surrounding areas is a challenge but from the moment we viewed Casterton Grange, we knew it was going to be able to cater for everything we wanted and more. On our first viewing, despite it being the depths of winter it was immediate to us that this was the perfect place for our summer wedding. Anneka, Patrick and team have thought of every little detail and more, from the champagne on ice as you arrive to the crackling open fires and a catalogue of suppliers to meet every scale and aesthetic of wedding you are looking to plan. The beauty of this venue really comes into its own with the fact you can select and bring in every supplier, from catering to marquees to floristry to suit your choice and taste. The CG team are always on standby to offer any advice without being intruding to allow you to really build your wedding and every aspect of it from the ground up. Throughout the planning process, no question was too big or too small and their guidance was invaluable in ensuring we made the right investments where it mattered. We hired the whole estate for the weekend, and you could just tell that the whole CG Team was committed to ensuring everything went to plan and perfection, quietly putting finishing touches to the grounds in the background. From the moment our guests arrived they were awe struck by Casterton Grange's grandeur yet intimacy that makes it feel truly yours and your guests for the weekend, everyone was complimenting every detail from the surround sound speakers to the conversational fire pits. Being able to have 35 people stay on site was ideal as we balanced a mixture of local and visiting guests. We hosted a smaller welcome party with close friends and family on the Friday with a pizza van and self-serve bar, the perfect casual vibe on The Grange's stunning terraces that set our weekend off with a bang. We worked with Anneka who lead the coordination of the day itself with complete seamlessness, a true testament to her prowess in the business. From coordinating the different plethora of suppliers to managing the ceremony music and entrances to even printing off my speech last minute and ensuring it was on my table when I sat down. No job was too big or too small and we are eternally grateful for her enthusiasm and commitment to perfection. On one of our viewings I also expressed to Anneka that I could not find the right florist to meet the aesthetic I was looking for and instantly she recommended the perfect one, another example of her ability to completely get what you want and help facilitate it. We held a celebrant-led ceremony in the gardens of the estate and the concept of being able to hear your guests arrive whilst you're getting ready in the towers of The Grange is something so unique, a moment that felt truly intimate on a grand scale. Following our ceremony we had a drinks reception on the terrace and into the wedding breakfast and reception in a stretch tent marquee by the lake. The ease of having so many areas to play with and for 160 guests to seamlessly move between was ideal, there was never a time where guests were moved around into waiting areas as can be found at some venues, everything just effortlessly flows. The option for older guests to take time out from the party in the house was also a huge benefit. Our party started as soon as guests sat down and continued into the house to the early hours. The Grange truly felt like ours for the weekend and we have so many special memories made there now that we will carry for life. The Casterton Grange Estate is truly special, we feel so privileged that we were able to share some of its magic for a weekend and would highly recommend you do too. We had a family reunion in Casterton Grange, a charming property, set in beautiful grounds. The house was full of ambience and it felt like walking into a family home, which made it extra special. We had a wonderful few days and would like to thank Holly for her friendly welcome and special thanks to Patrick for being so attentive and helpful. We wouldn’t hesitate to return in the future.
