Barnsley Sixth Form College is open Monday to Thursday from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, and on Fridays from 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM. The college is closed on Saturdays and Sundays. My experience at Barnsley Sixth Form was mixed. A few teachers were genuinely nice, caring, and supportive, and I really appreciated their effort. Unfortunately, this was overshadowed by frequent teacher absences, repetitive work with no change, and lessons that rarely felt engaging. Some staff used sarcasm towards students, which didn’t create a positive environment. It often felt like the focus was more on getting through the syllabus than on inspiring students to enjoy learning.
What an improvement to the old site. I thought it was a shame when the old buildings, including the library were demolished (although this has now been relocated), but after what seems like a lifetime of mess and traffic chaos the new building is light, modern and an asset to the town. Comparable to any other it's one of the best I've seen and is now fully open and operational to sixth form students.
Maths teachers are very good! Nice and easy way to follow work and revision with topic booklets, very helpful! My other subject can’t use the booklets as good and don’t help with long answer questions
