Really nice play area, clean, decent coffee. Sensory room is fab! But as others have said rope is too hard on your feet and there needs to be more of the wooden structure wrapped with soft play padding. My boy and other kids kept hitting their heads on the wood. It’s slightly dangerous, I feel much less anxious of injuries at a soft play place.
Visited today on its opening week and have been very impressed with our visit. We came during half term, their launch week and were not disappointed at all! First the venue, spotlessly clean, beautiful wood tomes and soft colour choices make it feel very welcoming and pleasant to be inside. It's not a massive selection of equipment to play on, but it's different from anywhere we have been before and has some unique features (certainly for Barnsley) there is a good amount of space to run around as well as being on the play frame. Despite being busy, really busy, there were still plenty of tables available and space to move around, the noise levels were good, despite the number of kids and adults it was a comfortable sound level. We didn't have meals, but we sampled the cafe in general. The mocha was lovely, really chocolatey with that nice coffee under tone. The caramel slice was lovely to go with it. We then had fruit shoots and juice and chocolate bars. All very well priced, served with a smile and quick service. We did see people having food and it looked good, menu pics included for people. The sensory room was brilliant, the arcade / games room was just having a bit of finishing off / maintenance but looked amazing through the window! Can't wait to come back and try the arcade machines, pool and darts out. The toilets, again well thought out, spotlessly clean even whilst it was busy. There were loads of staff on running the place to keep things smooth and easy, cleaning tables, removing rubbish, it was really nice to see! It's such a lovely addition to the metrodome, the theming is excellent (I recommend booking a tickets ahead of time to ensure you can get in). We certainly will be back, the kids loved it!
Very nice soft play! Kids have plenty to do ! Very friendly staff, Kirstyn was very nice !
Clean, spacious and lots to entertain the kids. Plenty of staff about. Food/drinks good value. Pictured is a falafel salad and chicken flatbread. Tasty. Would appreciate a jug of squash for kids though (would work out better value than individual fruit shoots). We get admission half price due to having a family pass here. There's always large play area with various rooms leading off (sensory room, pool table ect). The only negative is I wish there was easier access to the larger play area. Like someone else has mentioned. You access this via a rope (that my child can't manage yet), or a vertical wall that requires strength. He has mastered the wall but some steps would be helpful for children that aren't able to. I've noticed a lot of kids get around this by walking backwards up the slide! Also.. would love to see some signs regarding photography in the main play area. I did bring this up with staff in person and they do agree it's a safe guarding issue. Too many people walking round constantly filming and not respecting other families privacy.
I really wanted to give this place 5 stars, it is clean and spacious, and the food menu is good. However, the play structure isn’t practical for indoor use. The rope surfaces are uncomfortable and hurt your feet, which makes it hard for kids and adults to enjoy. It’s a large structure and the main focus of the play area, but no children were using it which left very little to do. Unfortunately we will visit other play areas in the area over this one next time. Hope it is adjusted soon!
