Homely, magical feeling, great drinks selection and THERE IS A PROPER JUKE BOX!!! Lovely staff who are always friendly, warm and welcoming and I dropped on a gig there the other week where there was a duo playing - one of them playing a harp, one playing a guitar and both singing and IT WAS HEAVENLY!
Even when busy, this place is a gem! Good seating upstairs (with a jukebox!) and lovelh bartenders too. Spiral City is a must-see if you're going out in Barnaley!
Lovely little pub with a record shop attached. More seating than would be expected when viewing from the outside. Decorated with old movie posters and similar items. Really cosy and welcoming Only downside would be the bar being up a few small steps may be awkward for anyone with mobility issues.
We were told to try this bar in The Arcade directly opposite Jolly Boys. This is definitely a flamboyant part of Barnsley. This is a surprisingly large bar over two floors. Lots of classic film posters...Madge knows that I am old enough to have seen many of them. A couple of real ales on handpump..I had Wilde Child Dutiful Supremacy bitter. ( also Vovation Bread and Butter.) Very good. Madge popped next door to study the classic vinyl 33rpm on sale.
A great bar to visit if you want to mix it up between craft and cask.
