Sales Manager
We are delighted to be supporting our client in their search for an experienced Business Development Manager. Our client is a specialist engineering business delivering Mechanical, Electrical and Instrumentation services, supporting complex projects from initial concept through to final operation. As part of their continued growth, they are looking to appoint an experienced BDM to focus on the UK market, developing new opportunities and strengthening existing relationships. The Role This is a commercially focused role, suited to someone with a proven track record in technical, project‑based industrial sales. Key responsibilities include: Business Development & Market Growth Develop and execute a structured business development approach, identifying, ranking and prioritising opportunities Build a strong understanding of key markets, customers and routes to market Identify and develop opportunities in both existing and new market sectors Take a targeted, proactive approach to identifying and engaging new customers Actively pursue and progress opportunities through to order placement Sales & Account Management Build, develop and maintain long‑term customer relationships Identify customer needs and successfully align them with the company's technical offerings Lead and contribute to high‑value bids and tenders Maintain a proven track record of closing high‑value projects and enquiries Play an active role in developing and maintaining a robust sales pipeline Support quotation preparation, ensuring all proposals meet customer and commercial requirements Operate and maintain an effective CRM system The Person The successful candidate will be: A self‑starter with high levels of motivation and personal drive Action‑oriented, well organised and able to manage multiple priorities Positive, energetic and commercially minded Confident building strong internal relationships across engineering, commercial and delivery teams Comfortable working autonomously while contributing to wider business goals Experience & Requirements Proven experience in technical, project‑based industrial or engineering sales Strong account management and relationship‑building skills Experience progressing opportunities from enquiry through to order placement Comfortable managing and completing complex, high‑value bids and tenders Ideally based in Yorkshire or nearby Willing and able to travel across the UK, including regular overnight stays Strong IT skills, including written reporting, presentations and CRM/database management Why Join?
