Barnsley Van Hire Ltd Central Garage

Hired a van for 2 days in September. Picked up at 8am after driving 20 miles the brakes failed and I had to sit around for just over 2 hours waiting for RAC and the van company to bring another van. The van was declared dangerous and towed to the garage. Note it was fine when I set off, these things do happen. I offered to hire another one from Leeds but they insisted they would bring a replacement. I drove to the place of work and couldn't lock or unlock the doors, I phoned and was told the keys are faulty I can start ignition but cannot lock the van. So I'm loading a van up with expensive kit and had to have a team member sit in the van at all times as couldn't secure our property in the van. I called and asked how I can possibly leave the van overnight in Leeds unlocked and was told it would be fine. I decided to return the vehicle that evening and leave at their premises, they offered a 3rd van for day 2 but i politely declined and hired one from elsewhere. Not heard anything since and never even got a refund for the second day. I must stress the first van was safe and in working order when I set off but unhappy that I was then given a van with a known fault as it couldn't lock and they never told me before I took it, had I known I would have declined it.

Wow how Refreshing!! really easy to hire a vehicle from here the guy's were knowledgeable and friendly. Didn't try overcharge us an honest very highly recommended place. Un-complicated and transparent service. 100% recommended 👌

Appalling, had a van booked for my house move, turned up to collect it, no van. Owner did not care, blamed the previous renter. Ruined my house move as had to bodge it in the car they were utterly useless

I am absolutely thrilled that I found this place! They are so accommodating and down to earth. I will be using them again and again and can highly recommend the quality of the service and the efficiency of the vehicles. Forget the big, faceless corporate, Van Hire places where you have to jump through hoops. This place will hire you a van and have you driving away in minutes. It does exactly what it says on the tin. 5 stars all the way.
