Ellison's Chemist

My family and I have used this chemist for decades and have rarely had a problem getting medicine and when they can't get it they have recommended alternatives to ask the Dr for. The staff are polite, accommodating and very understanding, I panic each time I'm pregnant and they help ease my anxiety and genuinely seem to care

I would like to make a complaint about the pharmacy staff ar Park Road Barnsley. When I asked the lady at the front desk if I could please have co/codomol tablets she said they didnt have any when i could clearly see them on the self behind her, when i pointed this out she said “well what do you need then for” when i explained its for nerve pain and that i am currently taking dissolvable cocodomol to help manage the pain at night she asked me if i had spoken to the dr about it. I explained I had a appointment booked. She asked me how long i had been using them and i explained on and off for around 2 weeks only on a night when needed but I was finding it difficult to take the dissolvable version because of the taste. She explained to the pharmacist who said they cant issue them to me. I am a responsible adult trying to manage my pain. No alternative pain relief was offered, no advice given and in general I found the lady working there to be rude, have an attitude towards me and be very unprofessional. She was judgemental. I am very disappointed with how I was treated and made to feel. On top of trying to manage chronic pain and sleepless nights this interaction really upset me. There was no attempt to understand my situation and symptons better. I will never visit that store again and will be sharing my unpleasant experience with all my family and friends.

Staff went above and beyond for me today after I felt anxiety regarding my medication running out before I had chance to get more. They made sure my prescription was ready for me and were so kind and patient. Thankyou so much to the lady with blonde hair and glasses for accommodating me!

Always very friendly and help me out with sorting my prescriptions. I work away a lot and they fit me in at a moments notice and get my prescription sorted ASAP.

I moved to Ellis because my previous chemist became difficult as I needed mine delivering . There are pro and cons but a lot isn’t actually to do with the chemists it’s the drs who send things late and EXPECT the chemist to jump. On a few occasions my drs have failed , thankfully Ellis have helped me deal little issues . Yes there is a delivery window , get your prescription in early and explain that the chemist are not the doctors lapdogs . I personally would like to thank them , I am not a native to Barnsley but with my health declining and with my wife’s support . I am rebuilding what was shattered . Thank you to all the staff at Ellis , park grove . I was surprised by how little reviews you had which I felt was so wrong Sir James
