Went there for Jum'ah prayers. Nice frontage and the inside was clean and tidy. The usual issues with shoe racks overflowing and not being enough but that is always a good sign mashallah. Let down by an Imam who delivered a 5 mins khutbah in Arabic, which none of the attendees understood. What is the point of Jum'ah Khutba if it is not delivered in the common tongue for people? The whole idea of a khutbah is to remind people and also utilise it to address community issues? a 20 mins English khutbah only will suffice and won't hold people from their work surely + they will learn something each week. Furthermore, and this is not just for this mosque, I do not understand why is it so difficult to choose someone with a good voice and Arabic pronunciation to deliver the Athan? Can we stop giving this responsibility to "the uncle" out of respect, and instead choose someone who can earn it with a nice voice? The Mo'athen could not pronounce Ash'hado in the Athan at all. it was shocking. May Allah accept from me and you the best of our deeds.
