The Doll Palace Hair Salon

I’m genuinely shocked. What was supposed to be a confidence boost turned into a humiliating experience. The experience was nothing like what was promised or shown in their photos. Believe it or not these photos were taken after my second visit where it had apparently all been sorted and blended. The first time was a 1000 times worse but unfortunately I didn’t take any photos as I was too embarrassed. Unfortunately, the extensions were very poorly fitted, uncomfortable and very visible. The whole experience has been one of the worst I’ve ever had to deal with and has caused me a lot of stress and anxiety. Since the appointment, I have experienced ongoing discomfort, and the extensions do not sit or blend correctly with my natural hair. The weave is so tight to my scalp it has given me bald patches (see photos). This is not the standard of work I would expect from a professional hair extension salon with 5 star reviews, especially given the cost involved. Instead of a professional result, I walked out feeling like they’d taken the piss out of me and my money. Although Rachel did her best to fix it after I complained to them the first time, it still isn’t what was promised - that it would blend and look nice. Now I’m stuck with hair that is a different colour to my natural hair and does not blend in the slightest. The salon owner is a lovely lady so I was in two minds whether to post this review, but people need to know that what you see on the Instagram posts isn’t what you get. I contacted the salon owner previously to raise my concerns, but the issue has not been resolved and now I am not receiving a reply after asking for a refund. In a previous review The Doll Palace confirmed that all problems are sorted out with full refunds given, which isn’t the case. I’ve requested a refund twice now and the messages have been ignored. For a 5 star salon I expected a total opposite experience and result to what I received.

I came for extensions about a year ago and it sounds dramatic but it’s literally changed my life. I always wore clip ins and hated them and felt very self conscious about my hair since being very young. Since Jade has done my hair I’ve felt so confident and she’s always validated my concerns and made me feel a million dollars when I’ve left the salon. The hair has lasted me a year and beyond and Jade has never tried to sell me new hair or make me pay for extra things. It’s such a joy to come to the salon in general, the ladies are lovely, down to earth and it’s a friendly atmosphere. I’ve never felt “out of place”. Thanks lovelies ♥️

Unfortunately I didn’t have a great experience at The Dolls Palace. No faults at all to the women who work there as they are lovely and friendly. However, I believe I did not receive a proper consultation as it felt rushed and I was out of the salon within 5 minutes. I think the end result could’ve been avoided (see pictures) as I was wrongly advised at a rushed consultation of how much hair I would need. My hair is thick, which should’ve been picked up on the consultation and following the appointment when I got home and looked at the extensions I was in shock. I then sent pictures to the salon showing how different it looked from just 20 minutes in the salon and i was asked “Have you taken some out?”. I had to then return to have them removed which I received a full refund and they were apologetic and said I because my hair is thick I would need more hair. Hence, a if a proper consultation was given this would’ve been picked up and lots of disappointment avoided. However, the situation was handled very well but could’ve been avoided.

I first went to this salon after I got meningitis and all my hair fell out. I lost all of my confidence and stopped going out of the house. I was so scared of going for a consultation, as I have experienced places where I have felt judged previously. From the minute I walked in this salon I felt comfortable, I had a long consultation where Beckie and Rachel both discussed my best options. And a week later I left the most beautiful salon, with the most beautiful hair. These women have given me my confidence back and I honestly would never go any where else. I have the most beautiful long thick hair and my own hair is also so healthy and growing back. I’m so grateful to you ❤️.

This is my second time getting extensions in with Becky, I was a bit nervous to get the first ones out for a short break as you hear negative things regarding them ruining your hair but this is not the case at all… my hair had grown so much whilst I had the extensions in and was in such good condition. I would recommend to anyone especially with Becky she’s such a lovely girl and puts so much care and effort into her work. I’m obsessed with my new hair and I can’t thank Becky enough for it… having extensions in gives me so much more confidence in myself. I love my new hair… thank you so much Becky xxx
