A great find in Batley, Bradford for authentic Sri Lankan groceries and spices. They carry a wide selection of essential ingredients that are often hard to find elsewhere, especially for traditional Sri Lankan and Indian cooking. From spices to dry goods and other staples, it’s a reliable place for your weekly shopping. That said, the customer service could use some improvement. A more welcoming attitude and better assistance from staff would really enhance the overall shopping experience. With a little focus on friendliness and customer care, this place could easily become a go-to spot for the community.

Visited this newly opened family owned store and was pleasantly surprised by a very warm and friendly Sri Lankan welcome. Kawadi has a great selection of Sri Lankan products ranging from fresh curry leaves and vegetables to drinks such as Necto, Elephant House Ginger Beer, curry powder, frozen fish from Sri Lanka and the usual favourites by Malibans, MD and Larich. The photos show some Lankan essentials I picked up and a selection of what’s sold in the shop.

I ordered Sri Lankan new year sweet for the first time from Kawadi and they delivered even without me making the payment. The sweet were super tasty and was delivered in good quality. Happy to recommend to anyone.

My go-to shop for Sri Lankan grocery and bakery items, street food, etc. Recently visited to buy some bakery items and they were delicious. The store is tidy and pleasant. I will recommend the store to anyone who likes to buy Srilankan products around Leeds.
