While the food itself was very good, the service was extremely disappointing. Staff were rude and not attentive at all. We weren’t offered additional drinks, and after our meals arrived, we received no further attention. Having to ask for the bill was the final frustration. Sadly, the service completely let the food down, and I won’t be rushing back.

The food here was genuinely excellent – my chicken balti was one of the best I’ve had, full of flavour and cooked perfectly. No complaints at all about the quality of the dishes. That being said, the pricing on sides is really over the top. Β£5 for rice and Β£5 for fries, both served as very small individual portions – it just doesn’t add up and feels extortionate, especially when you’re already paying decent prices for mains. The biggest letdown, though, was the service. When we asked to split the bill evenly, the manager was incredibly rude and dismissive, actually telling us β€œget your calculator out then, you know how to work it.” That kind of attitude completely spoils the experience, which is a real shame given how good the food is. Overall: Amazing food, but overpriced on sides and ruined by poor service and a manager with a bad attitude.

I love the curry's πŸ›πŸ˜‹ at Dower House! I visited on a Thursday night recently, a small group of 3, around 18:45, there were a few tables available and it filled up towards 8pm. I booked online πŸ’» and it took 24 hours before they replied. So I'd say if you wanted to make sure you're booked in contact the restaurant and book πŸ“–. You enter through the side door πŸšͺand arrive at a check in desk, if nobody is there continue through and left onto the bar and they'll seat you from there. A nice pint of kingfisher 🍺 We had a couple of poppadoms each and a pickle tray, it was all really fresh and the lime pickle was easily the best I've had in ages! πŸ’― I had Chicken Dansak for main, a nice sweet curry πŸ› πŸ˜‹ and some pilau rice and a garlic chapati (not on the menu but they were happy to make it - it was really garlicky πŸ§„πŸ§„πŸ§„ 🀩) It all tasted great πŸ˜ƒ We all had a starter and a main, + 1 garlic naan, 1 rice 🍚 1 chapati - 2 pints 1 pint of coke and we had white coffees β˜• to finish. It came to just over Β£100 which I felt was reasonable for the quality and service. The place was clean and tidy and the staff were all friendly πŸ’ͺπŸ‘πŸ€© My photos didn't come out very well, I only managed the starter! Pakora photo, which tasted great. I can't wait to go back again 😍
