We booked a large table of 13 for a special family meal, a 90th birthday. We were not requested to pre-order, which strongly prefer. Nothing better than being surprised by the menu on the day and being stuck between choices! All the dished came out perfectly cooked and together, with just one minor correction necessary but it was dealt with swiftly and there was no need to offer to compensate with a free drink. The food was delicious and generous portion sizes. We kept our table for the entire afternoon and we were not rushed at all. A thoroughly enjoyable experience was had by all!
The Sunday roast was beautiful, delicious food, huge crispy yorkahire, with lovely beef that we would have welcomed a little more of, and it was well presented. It was very busy due to Leeds fans, which gave a great atmosphere at the start. However, the advertised roaring fire mentioned outside was unfortunately not true. It was freezing inside, and despite asking, the staff wouldn’t light the fire. This really took away from the overall experience, which is a shame because the food itself was good.
A genuinely wonderful little pub. Pleasing atmosphere incredibly charming staff. Great beer well kept and expertly pulled. And frankly one of the finest Sunday roasts I've had in a pub. Great portions chock full of flavour and delicious season. Genuinely a wonderful meal. Will be back next time we're in the area
Very good pub about ten minutes walk from Leeds Railway Station. Seven cask beers on handpump when I visited including a dark mild. Not too busy before the Spurs game at Elland Road.
Went to The Midnight Bell Tuesday and it was genuinely really good. The burger was juicy, the chips were absolute doorstops, and the onion rings were huge and crispy. Proper satisfying plate of food. Yeah, it’s a bit on the pricier side — sixteen quid for essentially a burger and chips made me wince for a second — but it was actually worth it. Good quality, cooked well, and you don’t leave hungry. Service was friendly without hovering, everything came out hot, and the place has a nice chilled atmosphere where you can actually hear each other talk. Left full and happy. Would definitely go back.
